Get a free roof survey

Ask for a survey and we will come out, photograph your roof, and send you a fixed written quote. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation to go ahead.

What happens after you ask for a survey

  1. We call you back. Using the details on the form, we ring to ask a few questions about the roof, the problem and the access, and to agree a time to visit that suits you.
  2. We visit and look properly. We get up to the roof where it is safe to do so, check the loft or the inside face of the problem area, and look at the guttering, flashings and anything else that bears on the fault.
  3. We photograph what we find. Each defect gets a picture and a short note: what it is, what is causing it, and whether it can be repaired or needs replacing.
  4. You get a fixed written quote. It sets out the work, the materials, the access, the waste removal and any Building Regulations involvement, so you can compare it line by line with anyone else's.
  5. You decide. There is no obligation and no follow-up pressure. If you want to go ahead, we agree a start date. If not, the photographs are still yours to keep.

What it helps to have ready

None of this is essential, but it lets us prepare and makes the visit quicker.

  • The full address and postcode, and the best number to reach you on.
  • Where the problem shows: a damp patch on a bedroom ceiling, a drip in the loft, a tile on the lawn, water spilling over a gutter.
  • A few photographs from the ground or from a window, if you can take them safely. You can send them on WhatsApp.
  • Anything you know about the roof: roughly when it was last replaced, earlier repairs, or a survey report from when you bought the house.
  • Access notes: off-road parking, side gates, conservatories or extensions below the roof, and shared drives with neighbours.
  • Whether the building is listed or in a conservation area, as that can affect which materials we can use.
  • For landlords and agents, the name and number of the tenant or site contact who will let us in.

If water is coming in now

An active leak should not wait for the form. Ring us on 01256 213956 so we can talk it through straight away. We prioritise emergency calls, and the first job on a leaking roof is to make it safe: a temporary cover, a sheeted tarpaulin or a patch that stops the water while a proper repair is planned. We cannot promise an arrival time, because that depends on the weather and on how many other roofs are open at once, but we will tell you honestly when we can get there.

While you wait, keep yourself safe:

  • Do not climb onto the roof or lean out of windows to reach it, especially in wind or rain.
  • Put buckets under drips and move furniture and electrical items out of the way.
  • If water is near light fittings or sockets, switch off the electricity to that circuit at the consumer unit.
  • If a ceiling is bulging with water, keep people out of the room beneath it.
  • Take photographs of the damage inside for your home insurer.

For everything else, fill in the form below and we will be in touch to arrange your survey. If you want an idea of scale first, the roofing costs page lists typical UK ranges, and our guarantee page explains the 10-year workmanship guarantee that comes with our work.
